Due to demanding schedules...both yours and mine...I’m taking a break from regularly scheduled classes and opting to schedule individual or small groups as needed.
The ThursDAY class will continue as will Wool 911 and our monthly hooking groups.

Primitive Rug Hooking is an age old craft using fabric strips and a simple hook to produce wonderful, whimsical rugs. While learning the basics of rug hooking, we will also explore the history and traditions behind this craft. Star Patch (view sample) is a 7” x 7” mat perfect for beginners! The class kit which contains all the materials, is included in the class fee. Students will need to bring a 12” or 14” quilting hoop and a scissors to class. (If need be…these are available for purchase at class!)
Fee: $65.00 5 hour class
Finishing Techniques

This class will explore the many options of “finishing” a hooked piece. Bring to class: your “current” project, basic hooking supplies, tapestry needle, sewing needle and thread, notebook, pencil.
Fee: $25.00 3 hour class
Hooking ThursDAYs at the Rug
These 6 week class sets are designed for those with some hooking experience who want to expand their hooking skills. Get individual help on your current project or start a new one. Each session will include several mini lessons.
Bring your basic hooking supplies and a bag lunch.
Fee: $145.00 per 6 week session (material cost NOT included in fee)

Dye Workshop
In this “hands on” full day workshop we will cover all the basics and explore several dye techniques. Class fee includes extensive course notes with recipes and dyed wool samples.
Wear old clothes and bring….an apron, rubber gloves, pen/pencil and plastic sandwich bags to bring wet samples home in.
Fee: $60.00 5 hour class
Note…For Saturday classes we take a short lunch break…you may bring a bag lunch or visit one of the neighborhood take-out restaurants!
Continuing this year...WOOL-911...Tuesdays are WOOL HELP days...
Get help with your current project...or start a new one. Need help in color planning? Struggling with a technique? Need a refresher on finishing?
Unlike our monthly hooking groups, which are not instruction oriented...the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays are the perfect times for some serious help!

Two - 2 hour sessions (scheduled to meet your needs)
1st session: history of rug hooking, overview of materials, basic techniques, begin project
2nd session: finishing techniques
$75.00 includes instruction, beginner's kit (several to choose from), and hook. Bring your own 12" or 14" quilting hoop or purchase one at class.
Beyond Beginner...aka...Design Your Own
Two - 2 hour sessions (scheduled to meet your needs)
1st session: drawing your design, transferring to backing, begin color planning
2nd session: review color plan, choose wools, cut and begin hooking
$60.00 plus cost of project
Color Planning and Hooking Help are also available by the hour...call or email for details or to register for a class.
The Wooly Red Rug Hooking Groups
We get together each month (except May) on the Third Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and the Second Saturday from 11 to 2. All are Welcome...No fee...No formal instruction...but you will find conversation and laughter...an opinion or two...advice and encouragement...GREAT (strong) coffee...and of course oodles of WOOL!
